The profession of sailors is certainly difficult, especially emotionally. They go sailing for a long time and spend several months isolated from the rest of the world, far from relatives and surrounded by the same faces of colleagues, and the views overboard hardly change. Especially the submariners, who do not even see the sky above their heads. Therefore, special care was taken about their psychological health. There are entire recreation areas for the crew on large submarines, which are specifically designed for very long periods of autonomous navigation, and you might wonder what is there.

First of all, these are just separate rooms with TV, music, tables, and chairs for gatherings and joint meetings. Here is such a recreation area inside the nuclear submarine of project 941 "Shark" - TK-208 "Dmitry Donskoy"

By the way, "Dmitry Donskoy" is the largest submarine in the world, and even a strategic missile cruiser, so you can only find photos from the rooms for rest on the net. Here is the gym

Although active strength training on submarines is contraindicated: the air here is artificial with a high content of carbon dioxide

A part of the recreation area is significant considering that "Donskoy" is 172 m long and with a crew of about 165 people

This is one more cabin for rest

There is even an exhibition area with icons and memos about the Battle of Kulikovo

And a photo lab!

Comfortable rocking chairs on the nuclear submarine of project 949 "Granit"

And soft armchairs and sofas on the K-442 "Chelyabinsk" - just like at home!

In addition to standard showers, some submarines have a sauna! This is in the aforementioned "Chelyabinsk"

And this is an electric heater in a bathhouse on a submarine of project 949 "Granite"

When divers go up, of course, they sometimes swim right in the open sea (in this photo below - the Americans)

Or even fry, for example, sausages (these are British)

There is also a pool inside the submarines!

They say they draw water there directly from the sea

Let's take a look at the abode of the captain of the "Dmitry Donskoy" - his cabin has three rooms

Bedroom, meeting room

And the third is for the deputy in case the captain is absent

Well, how good is such life on submarines?
